The Zanardi Kart was launched in 2004 as a collaboration between Alex Zanardi and Dino Chiesa, with Martin Plowman as the company’s first works driver. Just four months later, Plowman won the Asia-Pacific Championship to take the first major victory. Since then Zanardi drivers have competed in all levels of international competition, in 2006 concentrating on ICA and JICA. This strategy paid off in 2007 as Kazeem Manzur moved up to the new KF1 class and scored podium positions while being the youngest driver in the field.
Zanardi Kart/Chiesa Corsa chief Dino Chiesa has long experience in the top levels of karting, previously working for CRG and heading the DC-One operation. He has had a pivotal influence on the careers of F1 drivers including Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Vitantonio Liuzzi.
Zanardi karts are designed by Chiesa in conjunction with the extensive international racing programme and are constructed by CRG to ensure the highest quality standards.
